As a teacher you do have the option to create student accounts without parent email address. Before doing so, please consider the advantages of adding that address:
- In most cases it is necessary to allow a password reset.
- Adding a parent email allows the parent to contact Help desk on behalf of the child.
- The email address is important for updating the parent about their child's progress.
Once we have this email address, we will notify the parent and give him/her access to the student’s KA account. However, students will immediately be able to access Khan Academy as soon as you create their accounts, even if their parents don’t open their emails immediately.
One possible solution for parents who do not have email addresses or home Internet access is to create a free email account (perhaps via Gmail) using a computer at your school or a public library.
