I've had the new versions on both my iPad and Android phone for several days now. I haven't used the Android one much, but I have opened it and looked at it. Here are my comments:

    Good changes:

    1. I like the simpler home screen on the iPad app, especially the My courses section. It's also nice to have on the Android app, but I miss having the "recents" on that screen (which the iPad app didn't have). I do not miss the scrolling sample topics on the iPad that never changed (such as "What is asthma?").

    2. I like when I start up a video, I see the playing times for all of the other videos in that playlist. However, this would still be more useful in the section where the video is originally selected.

Things to move on to from here (numbers here correspond to numbers above):

    1. Be able to edit My courses right in the app, instead of being taken to the web site via a browser like Safari.

    2. Now that the videos play in a setting that looks like the web site's lesson pages, how about linking to the questions section for each video?

    Not so good:

    1. A newer version, 6.0.1, has been rolled out. Videos are now crashing my iPad app. Yes, I have just used Report a Problem for this.

    2. This would have been a great opportunity to restore the sketch/scratch pad in the iPad app to the better functionality and better user experience it presented up until a year ago this week. This includes an undo tool, scrolling capability, keeping the sketch/scratch pad in the same layer as the problem and its entry area, feedback option, and remembering the color last used in the same set of problems. But no, Khan Academy has its own priorities. Please tell us that these changes are coming soon!

One more good thing - I like seeing the Science-specific and Arts & humanities-specific partner content in these subject areas, as well as in the general Partner content section.
