I really don't like any of it.....oh well

I NEED TO SEE (IN GRAPH FORMAT - LIKE BEFORE) HOW MUCH TIME WAS SPENT PER DAY. I SURE HOPE YOU ARE GOING TO BRING THAT FUNCTION BACK!

    Hi dennis.bonanni,

I am afraid that the energy points are only viewable in total on your learner homepage and cannot be adjusted to show accrued points over a custom range of time. I understand that this change may be something with which you are not happy, but I would encourage you to submit your feedback about the new Progress view to our development team using the form linked in the above article. This view is brand new, so our team is really looking for feedback on what works and what doesn't so we can be sure to keep the platform user-friendly and productive for your learning.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

    Best,

    Eva

    Hi Blane,

Over the summer, Khan Academy completed an overhaul on how we measure learning time throughout the site. This was a large, multi-team effort which resulted in a powerful update to our reporting accuracy, consistency, and it better sets our platform up for long-term sustainability.

However, because this time measurement was used in all of our reporting, it meant that we had to rebuild all our reports from the ground up. While this has resulted in some new functionality that we’re excited about, it also means that we were not able to maintain all of our previous reports. Because of this change, the original progress reports for videos, activities, and focus will no longer be available.

In the new progress view, you are still able to locate the activity of your child from their learning homepage, it is just slightly different.

If you click on the “Progress” tab in the left-hand navigation bar of your child's homepage, you will be redirected to their Individual Student report.

This view will show you exercise minutestotal learning minutes, and an activity log and can be sorted by time frame, material, and type of activity. You can also keep track of their changing skills by hovering over the “Change” column.

I understand that the new report may have some features that you are unhappy with, and I would encourage you to let our team know by filling out the feedback form linked above. And, as always, please let us know if you have any other questions as we are always happy to help.

    Best,

    Eva

Hello!  The Focus circle shown below allowed the teacher and the student to click on a particular skill on the circle. This would take you to a series of blue and red bars showing when the student worked on a problem, how long the student worked on it, and resources used. That was helpful information especially during parent conferences and for coaching students. Will there be access to that data at some point? Thanks!

    Hi Dr. Vong,

Since this new Individual Student Progress page is a brand new feature, our development team is looking for information on what works, but more importantly what does not work on the new view. As of right now, the Focus circle is a feature that is not included in the new report, however, as our development team works to refine the features and layout of the new report, they welcome all the feedback you can provide about what might make your time as a teacher on Khan Academy more productive and efficient.

I would highly encourage you to fill out the feedback form (linked at the bottom of the above article) in order to share your thoughts on the deprecation of the Focus circle. They would truly value you input.

    Thank you,

    Eva

These new reports are totally useless for a parent that doesn't have time to read a million lines.  I'm so thankful that my son and I hadn't finished our testing of Khan as a resource for our homeschooling.  If we had finished prior to this change I would have donated a large portion of the costs I normally spend on his curriculum.  But now several things say "-" under the minutes column when I watched him spend at least 5 minutes on the section.  That makes the report useless even if I had time to go through the multiple pages of lines from a single day with only 2 subjects.  I can't even imagine how long the report would be if we had added more subjects.  So we'll be back to textbooks, with the change now being that I tell my friends not to bother with Khan if they want to track things without being tied to the seat watching their child learn.

Thanks for making the horrible changes before I donated.

    Hi Jennifer,

I was able to review the comment you posted and I see that you started that you are currently seeing  ""-" under the minutes column when I watched him spend at least 5 minutes on the section". It sounds like this could potentially be a bug.

Because of this, I will go ahead and create a support ticket in order to be able to investigate this further for you.

Please be on the lookout for an email from me in regards to this issue.

    Thank you.

The graph was way easier to read, because I am graded from a Tuesday to Tuesday week I was much easier to just add up my minutes when viewing them. Now every time I go in I have to custom set the data. It is very difficult to know how much time I get each day. There should be a setting so that I can look at the bar graph (like before) or look at the new update so that I can choose which one is suited for how I am learning.

I do know that you are trying to improve khan academy and the concept of improving your messures is really good. Although I think the graphs were easier to read and  to show the amount of correct execises I did. In this new version I find it more difficult to see it in the specicfic order.

    Hi,

I completely understand that the Activity tab and the graphs were a useful feature for both of you. Since this Individual Student Progress layout is brand new, our team is looking for any and all feedback on the features that need improvement, so I would highly encourage you to fill out the feedback form (linked at the bottom of the above article) in order to share your thoughts on the deprecation of the Activity tab. Our team would truly value your input.

Thank you for your thoughts, and please let us know if you have any other questions.

Seems KA happily put aside the saying "A picture is worth a thousand words" for there new progress reports.

But than again ... the current reports are feeling now way more like real reports. Boring and convoluted.

    Good JoB

    Hi,

As this is a brand new feature, our team truly would like any and all feedback about what you do not find productive about the new Individual Student Progress report. Please do consider filling out the feedback form linked in the article above to let our team know what works and what does not. We do appreciate any and all input you can provide!

    Thank you,

    Eva

    1) That would take up to much of my time. (as I'm a very small team with limited time and way more important other priorities on my plate.)

    2) Don't plan on using it in the near future, also because some other feature I liked was also ditched. (also figure, as its a brand new feature, it still has its fair share of initial bugs. And I for one don't care running into them.)

That's all the effort I feel KA is worth from me. (similar to KA's perceived (by me) effort towards a, now ~3 years old, issue reported by me.)

    Have a nice day.

Yea I know. Your Sorry, bla bla bla.

I assign our class daily warm up through Khan, and give a weekly requirement of 60 minutes of practice outside of school. Because I can no longer differentiate the in class and out of class time as easily as before, it is, unfortunately, making it far more laborious to tally each students' time spent practicing to arrive at their HW score each week. I'm sure I will find an easier work around, but would welcome a new way to view this data that mimicked or improved the old feature.
